I think he means the general opinion. I think that micro niches have great potential - I have never created one so I don't have much experience to share, but I am definitely thinking about making some. I think there are a lot of people that are making lots of money just having good micro niches, and some earn just a bit and still profit for them.

Like I said, I still have to learn, but that is my opinion about them at the moment.

I was reading a blog posts about micro niches and this guy mentioned that he earns $3200 a month from 130 micro niche sites. Very lucrative, wouldn't you say? So maybe worth the effort.

Yes it's a good strategy for money making. A very popular version of a micro niche is a long tail keyword of a more general (broad) keyword on a popular subject. If you can find something that is popular such as 'free games' and then a micro niche within that you are likely to dominate on that keyword. Then just get relevant content/backlinks and monetize well.

100% spot on, I do it all the time

It is excellent strategy for making money ! Grab a few long tail keywords and SEO the micro site to page 1 for each long tail keyword
