    Google may penalize those sites from search engine results where users face trouble to find actual text among ads and text.

    Interesting how this got no comments but the news came out weeks ago.

    And, considering Matt Cutts is the one who made the announcement. Would think this was big news.

    Well, i'd say that possibly this could go both ways. For one thing, Google is responsible for a large percentage of ads on most websites. So aren't they penalizing themselves? In a way Google will be working against themeselves.

    But also i think it's a good idea to penalize sites that put up too many ads or make the ads over power the content. Cause that does not serve the reader's purposes. Ads are there to augment the content or accent what is there, not to overpower as you can see on some sites.

    Though i think many of the larger commercial sites are more guilty of this practice than smaller sites that use more discreet ads.
